Women's Health

Thanks to all of the clubs that are making Women's Health part of your monthly meetings!

American Cancer Society
Saving lives by helping people stay well, get well, find cures, & fight back

The American Cancer Society is the nationwide, community-based, voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives, and diminishing suffering from cancer, through research, education, advocacy, and service.

Go Red for Women and the American Heart Association
Make it your mission to fight heart disease in women.

Go Red For Women encourages awareness of the issue of women and heart disease, and also action to save more lives. The movement harnesses the energy, passion and power women have to band together and collectively wipe out heart disease. It challenges them to know their risk for heart disease and take action to reduce their personal risk. It also gives them the tools they need to lead a heart healthy life.

In 2010, the American Heart Association set a strategic goal of reducing death and disability from cardiovascular disease and strokes by 20% while improving the cardiovascular health of all Americans by 20% by the year 2020.

Mesothelioma

Mesothelioma is a cancer of the lining of the lung caused by exposure to asbestos. Mesothelioma cases among women are likely caused by secondary asbestos exposure, also called paraoccupational exposure.

Mesothelioma can have a dormancy period of up to 50 years; therefore, a person can be diagnosed with mesothelioma many years after they have been exposed.

The Breast Cancer Site

A favor to ask, it only takes a minute ...

Please tell ten friends to tell ten today! The Breast Cancer site is having trouble getting enough people to click on their site daily to meet their quota of donating at least one free mammogram a day to an underprivileged woman. It takes less than a minute to go to their site and click on 'donating a mammogram' for free (pink window in the middle).
This doesn't cost you a thing. Their corporate sponsors/advertisers use the number of daily visits to donate mammogram in exchange for advertising.

Here's the web site! Pass it along to people you know.
